THE search is on for the next gorgeous girl to wear the Miss Worcester crown.

Entries have opened for this year’s competition, which sees beauties from around the county battle it out to prove they have the style and sophistication to win the prestigious title.

The final on Sunday, May 8, will be held at Worcester Racecourse as part of a family funday and after that the newly crowned Miss Worcester will then go onto compete at Miss England and then – if she wins that – to the Miss World contest.

Current Miss Worcester Katie Sinclair has enjoyed her time with the crown so much she is even considering entering again in a different place.

“The Miss Worcester competition is such a nice day - you get to meet all the other contestants,” she said. “And obviously Miss England was the most fantastic experience.

“It takes place over two days and you get to meet so many nice people and get treated like a superstar.

“I might even do the Miss England competition again.”

But it is not just the glamour which 21-year-old Miss Sinclair has enjoyed, but also getting involved with charities in and around Worcester.

“I have done so much charity work throughout the year. For example, I have worked with the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign on their record breaking attempt and I’m also doing a parachute jump for the RSPCA in May.”

Miss Sinclair, of South Littleton, near Evesham, is now looking forward to being a judge in this year’s competition, but she will be sad to wave goodbye to her crown.

She said: “It is hard work but it is really worth it. It has been such a fantastic year.”
