A DEDICATED family have travelled 250 miles to Worcestershire to rehome a special rescue dog.

Errol, a two-year-old collie cross, had spent five months at the Dogs Trust, Evesham, when Jamie Lowe and his partner Sarah Sarre, from St Sampson in Guernsey, spotted him on the charity’s website and instantly fell in love with him.

Ms Sarre said: “We flew to Southampton then drove to Evesham to spend a weekend getting to know him.

“The 500-mile round trip took a lot of planning, but we’re totally smitten with him already and can’t imagine a better behaved dog than Errol.”

Chris Slight, Dogs Trust Evesham rehoming centre manager, said: “It touched our hearts. We are so glad Errol has settled in to his new life on the Channel Islands, it just goes to prove the right home is out there for each and every dog.”
