A CHARITY race night at a city centre bar raised hundreds of pounds for a local hospice.

Keystones Café Bar in Copenhagen Street, Worcester, held the race night on Thursday, February 3, to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Members of the public could ‘buy’ and name a horse for a minimum donation of £5 and throughout the night there were six separate races and eight horses competed in each race.

People could also bet on the horses and 50 per cent of the money taken on the Tote was donated to the hospice.

Keystones owner Maz Madzarevic said the night was a success.

He said: “It was a good night and everyone enjoyed themselves.

“We’re still waiting to hear exactly how much was raised but it’s about £300, which is great.”
