A MAN has died following an incident at a Worcester car park last night.

Emergency services were called to the Crowngate Shopping Centre car park in Worcester at around 5.30pm yesterday.

A man was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with suspected head injuries, but died there shortly after arrival.

An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and an emergency care practitioner attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a man who had suffered a suspected head injury and was in a serious condition.

“Crews immediately commenced emergency treatment on scene and transferred the man by land ambulance on blue lights to Worcester Royal Hospital.

"Whilst on route to hospital the man’s condition deteriorated and crews administered advanced life support in the back of the ambulance for the remainder of the journey.

"Medics were pre alerted to the arrival of the man who was in a critical condition.

“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance crews and hospital medics nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead shortly after arrival at hospital.”

A police spokesman confirmed that enquiries into the incident will continue throughout today.
