PATIENTS and the public are being given the chance to shape the future of a new NHS trust.

The people of Worcestershire can have input on the new NHS trust which will run the county’s community and mental health services.

As previously reported in your Worcester News, the new trust will run mental health services such as Newtown Hospital in Worcester, the city’s psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) and also the county’s five community hospitals in Malvern, Evesham, Pershore, Tenbury and Bromsgrove.

A number of events have been organised across the county to allow patients and members of the public to get involved in “shaping the vision and values” of the new organisation.

They are to be held at: Kidderminster Town Hall on Wednesday, 10am-noon; Evesham Hospital’s training and development centre on Thursday, March 17, from 6-8pm.

Perdiswell Young People’s Leisure Club, Worcester, on Thursday, March 24, from 1.30-3.30pm.

This new trust, as agreed at the meeting of the NHS Worcestershire Board on September 15 last year, will provide the vast majority of the services managed by Worcestershire Primary Care Trust’s provider arm, as well as all those at present provided by Worcestershire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust which is to be dissolved.
