FINE diners and fast foodies can look out for a new scheme boosting county produce.
The Taste Scheme has been launched by tourism body Destination Worcestershire, allowing restaurants, pubs, bars, tea shops, takeaways and fast food outlets to advertise the fact they use local produce.
Managers, chefs and owners are being encouraged to sign up and achieve national accreditation for their loyalty to county produce.
Daren Bales, head chef of the Elms at Abberley, is backing the scheme. He said: “Tea shops and roadside cafes are just as important as restaurants when it comes to visiting an area. With Taste, the county will be able to feature different food options on its website and highlight the diversity it has to offer.”
Businesses taking part can display a Tastes of Worcestershire Ribbon logo in their advertising.
