Police arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of dangerous driving after two people were injured when a car hit a bus stop in Malvern.

He has been released on bail while enquiries continue into the crash, which happened at 6.51pm on Tuesday, when a silver Ford Focus crashed into a bus stop in Pound Bank Road.

A woman in her 20s and a 30-year-old man, who were waiting at the bus stop, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.

The male driver of the car and his two male passengers were uninjured.

A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw the Focus being driven in the moments leading up to it.”

The road was closed and diversions were put in place.
