TIME is running out to nominate young unsung heroes for an award.

People have until Saturday, February 12, to put forward 11 to 19-year-olds for a Tryangle Award.

The awards are aimed at celebrating the efforts and achievements of young people.

Councillor Marcus Hart, Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for education, said: “Our Tryangle Awards have got bigger and better each year and it’s the young people who have been awarded ‘triers’ who have made this happen.

“This is a chance for residents to nominate young people who they believe most deserve to be in the spotlight.”

Nominations for the awards, which are in their sixth year, are welcome from teachers, youth workers, sports coaches volunteers, family and friends.

More than 40 groups and individuals have so far been nominated across the seven categories of bravery, personal achievement in the arts, personal achievement in music, personal achievement in sports or outdoor activity, good friends or carers, citizenship and environment, and personal development.

Nominations can be made by logging onto youthworcs.org.uk/tryangle

More information is available from the council’s youth support team on 01905 765417.

Every young person who is nominated will receive a certificate, and the winners of each category will be announced at an awards ceremony at County Hall, Worcester, on Thursday, March 17.
