X FACTOR star Cher Lloyd had to cancel her performance in Worcester due to bad weather.
The 17-year-old from Malvern Link was meant to perform at Tramps, Angel Place, on Monday night but decided to cancel after only 100 teens managed to battle through the weather for the under-18s night, despite the fact the event was almost entirely sold out.
But Cher has promised that she will return early in the new year to bring her own brand of music and rap to the city – and, what’s more, the determined 100 fans who did make it to the club got a special meet-and-greet with the star.
Dean Hill, owner of Tramps, said Cher was disappointed not to be able to perform to a home crowd but wanted to make sure people did not miss out.
He said: “It’s so unfortunate that the weather turned so bad – the amount of years we have not had a white Christmas and it decides to do it on a day that a local star comes to do a performance in her local city.
"We will be re-arranging this event for the earliest possible date in January, people who have bought tickets already can re-use these ones.”

Meanwhile Sin, the city club where Cher competed earlier this year is hosting its latest competition, Worcester’s Got Talent.
Last week saw the strongest group of contestants yet take to the stage at Sin Bar – and tonight’s show promises its own brand of magic.
Alongside 92-year-old Reg Box, who is raising money for the Midlands Air Ambulance, will be grandmother Anne Shimmick and singer Hollie Bourne – who has just returned from Tenerife.
Manager Paul Todd is excited by what the competition, which gives £5,000 prize money, has to offer to its audience. “The competition is a strong one,” he said.
“It’s a competition Worcester should be proud of – after all, it is the second biggest one in terms of prize money after the ITV show Britain’s Got Talent.
“ I cannot really say enough about these competitions. The quality of the acts is really good and it is an opportunity for people to get their foot on the ladder.
"There are agents looking for talent at our shows. People from the competitions have been signed up and are now down in London or performing every week around the country.
“They have had the courage to stand up and try.
“They are following their hearts and they’re trying to break into the industry.”
