HONEY is homeless and in need of loving new owners to ease her into retirement.
She was taken to a foster home five weeks ago after sitting on someone's doorstep, near Stourport-on-Severn for five days, in a poor condition.
Honey, who is believed to be about 10 years old, had dental and thyroid problems and matted, flea-ridden fur, but after veterinary care she is fighting fit.
Worcester and District Cats Protection have enlisted one of their 18 foster homes to care for Honey until she finds new owners.
Branch co-ordinator, Lynn Glaze, said although the cat has had most of her teeth removed, is deaf and has poor vision, she would quickly settle into the right home - somewhere which must be away from traffic.
"She is very affectionate, cuddly and wants to be with you all the time," she said. "She lives up to her name and is a real honey, is fine with other cats and dogs, but does think after all she has been through she has the right to be the boss."
Anyone who is interested in offering her a home can call 01905 820348.
