S OME top quality musicians are promised at Malvern Theatres over the coming months as the venue releases its line-up for the autumn.
Everything from award-winning jazz acts to top tribute bands are on the cards for the season, which kicks off on Thursday, October 12, with a welcome return to the venue by Jack Jones, who performed there early last year.
The talented singer will be bringing his 17-piece band to the town to perform classics from his career such as The Race Is On, Call Me Irresponsible and What I Did For Love.
Jones has notched up more than 50 albums, two Grammy Awards and enjoyed sell-out world tours over the years, remaining a formidable entertainer to this day.
He was initially inspired to take such a career path following a visit by none other than Frank Sinatra to his school after Jones' classmate - Sinatra's daughter Nancy -- invited him to come in.
On another front, Ol' Blue Eyes' presence will certainly be felt at the venue on Saturday, November 18, as Frank Sinatra tribute act Phil Fryer will be performing the singer's classics.
Meanwhile, jazz vocaist Clare Teal - who has recently won the award for Best Vocalist at this year's BBC Jazz Awards - will also be returning for a concert on Friday, October 13, as part of a major UK tour.
A familiar face in Malvern, having performed there several times before, the musician - who once had a job selling double glazing in Worcester - has played everywhere from Hyde Park to headlining the Marlborough Festival.
Clare surprised herself after being snapped up by record label Sony on her 31st birthday in 2004 and has since gone from strength to strength.
Those favouring the sounds of the 70s are set for a treat when supertrouping ABBA tribute act Bjorn Again play on Tuesday, December 12.
The tribute act have been going since 1989 and faithfully recreate the music of one of the most famous groups in musical history.
Other musical highlights include stalwart singer David Essex bashing out his hits spanning more than three decades on Sunday, November 12, and jazz partnership Cleo Laine and John Dankworth making their first visit to Malvern in more than a decade on Friday, November 17.
