YOUNG city cyclists have been given a hand to stay safe in the dark.
Police community support officer Joe Facchiano was concerned than too many children in Barbourne were cycling without lights.
This week, he joined forces with Worcestershire County Council's Chose How You Move team and presented 30 bicycle lights and reflective shoulder bags to pupils at St George's C of E School.
Mark Leyland, the county's school travel plan adviser, said: "Working with local partners is crucial and this helps us spread the word that cycling is a great way of getting around, but safety should always come first."
Mr Facchiano is also supporting the school's road safety campaign by carrying out speed enforcement action in the area.
