AN iconic Swinging Sixties brand is proving a huge hit at House of Fraser in Worcester.
Legendary womenswear brand Biba, iconic in the Sixties, has hit the headlines again after going down a storm following its launch at House of Fraser.
According to House of Fraser’s UK head office, after only two weeks in its stores, Biba had already overtaken high-street names such as Karen Millen and Coast to become the retailer’s biggest selling womenswear brand, with sales of £500,000 in its first fortnight.
And the newly revived brand is now set to become a huge hit with Worcester’s shoppers after launching in House of Fraser, CrownGate, Worcester.
So what is the appeal of this cult brand? A favourite of stars including Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithfull and Twiggy in the Sixties, BIBA has lost none of its unique edgy style according to House of Fraser store manager Maggie Huckfield.
“The distinctive quality and unique nature of its pieces sets it apart straight away,” she said.
“Each garment is beautifully cut, fabrics are sumptuous and tactile and there are beautiful embellishment details in beading and pearls – it is just stunning.
“It has already proved a big hit with our customers and we are absolutely thrilled to be able to offer this fantastic brand to Worcester’s shoppers.”
The BIBA autumn/winter collection features everything from delicate, beaded camisoles and chiffon blouses to faux fur coats.
BIBA can be found on the first floor at House of Fraser, CrownGate Shopping Centre.
