VALUABLE Second World War weapons have been stolen in a night-time raid.

Four de-activated Second World War guns, swords, cap badges and First World War medals were all taken from a house in Nelson Road, St John's, Worcester, between 7pm on Saturday, July 15 and 3.45am on Sunday. The haul is thought valued at more than £8,000. The non-firing weapons included, a Sten Mk. 5 replica machine gun, valued at £400, a dark silver 1940s Bren machine-gun, with wooden stock, valued at £200, a .303 Lee Enfield No. 4 rifle, with walnut butt valued at £200, and a Webley Mk. 5, British Army service revolver valued at £140.

Among other military items taken were two George V 1897 swords in brown leather scabbards valued at £120 each, two wooden frames each containing 16 army cap badges, valued at £120 per frame, and another frame containing three First World War medals and two cap badges, valued at £100. Other items stolen included more than £1,200 worth of angling equipment, 150 DVDs, 150 CDs worth, a Hewlett Packard lap-top computer, an X-Box and games, a Hewlett Packard Photo-Lab colour printer, a Packard Bell PC and screen, a Sony DVD-player, a Matsui portable DVD player and many personal items.
