HOUSEHOLDERS are being warned to keep their doors and windows locked after three youths were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
The three youths were arrested in Ambleside Drive, Worcester, at 5.30am on Saturday on suspicion of breaking into houses in Ambleside Drive and Coniston Close. Two were subsequently bailed to return to Worcester Police Station while enquiries continue.
A police spokesman said: "In the hot weather we've been experiencing it is natural that folk wish to keep cool by leaving doors and windows open at home and at places of work, but this often makes life easy for the villains and provides easy opportunities for sneak thieves.
"While we understand everyone's desire to remain comfortable in the hot weather, it is also vitally important that we all ensure that our premises at home and work remain secure and safe."
