DONALD Leonard, a former pupil who later became a master at The King's School, Worcester, has died aged 72, at his home in Normandy, France following a short illness.
He was a boarder at King's for five years 1947-52 where he became a school monitor and rowed for the first four.
He returned to Worcester in 1958 and was on the staff for the next 10 years teaching maths, physics and chemistry. During this period, he did voluntary work at Worcester royal Infirmary.
After leaving the School, Mr Leonard held teaching appointments in Ipswich, Devon and Kent before retirement in 2002.
He was also president of the Old Vigornians 2000-2001.
