A SERIES of roadshows is being organised this month to help spread the word about the massive wheelie bin recycling scheme expansion in Worcester.
About 14,000 homes in Dines Green, Warndon and Red Hill are due to have the two-bin recycling service this autumn - the biggest expansion so far.
The council is hoping to get as many people as possible from these areas to turn up for a series of roadshows throughout July which
aim to explain how the
service works.
At each roadshow there will be new replica bins for the visitors to see, and environmental services staff will be on hand to respond to questions and concerns.
The council has piloted the roadshows at three separate venues and has now confirmed another six dates.
Head of environmental services Mike Harrison said: "The ones we have had so far have been very well attended and seem to have gone very well indeed in letting people know what the scheme is all about.
"Some people have come to us with genuine concerns on the recycling system, and these roadshows give them the chance to come and see us and have those and any other concerns addressed.
"We have confirmed the dates until the end of July and want to see as many people come along as possible.
"In a sense, I am trying to solve this problem in advance. I'd prefer people to come and see us now rather than have to deal with a lot of work later.
"We will be on hand to answer any questions about the service, address concerns and show them what the bins look like."
The roadshows will be on the following dates:
lWednesday, July 12, Ankerage Green car park, Warndon Villages, 10am-1pm
lThursday, July 13, Blooms Worcester Garden Centre, Droitwich Road, 10am-1pm
