LIBERAL Democrats have vowed to join with the Conservatives in scrapping plans to build up to 25,500 new homes if their party is in an influential position post general election.
West Worcestershire candidate Richard Burt and John Hemming, shadow West Midlands regional minister for the Liberal Democrats, met with a small group of residents in the Bell in Lower Broadheath yesterday afternoon.
Mr Hemming was pressed by them on the future of the Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS).
“Our national manifesto says we will abolish national housing targets,” said Mr Hemming.
The Conservative party, which has Harriett Baldwin standing in this seat, have also promised to scrap the RSS.
