THIS new look Malvern Town Reserve side were always in control in this pre-season friendly against local rivals and hosts, Bromyard Town reserves.
BROMYARD TOWN RES 0, MALVERN TOWN RES 4
It took eight minutes for Town to get off the mark, when Adam Simpson rose majestically and headed home a Brian Craven cross. Craven had an outstanding game, being robust in the challenge and winning a number of 50-50 balls.
Town brought on all six substitutes at half time, all of whom settled into the game straight away.
With 65 minutes gone, Ed Lyons carried the ball to the bye line and crossed to Ollie Endacott, who made no mistake from two yards out, side-footing past the home keeper.
Two minutes later, skipper Jamie Thomas was the provider, picking out Endacott, who chested down into the path of Marion Halcak and the mid-fielder drove home, bringing the score to 0-3.
Dale Humphries bossed the mid-field for much of the second half, linking the defence and forwards with intelligent football.
The final goal came when Thomas intercepted on the half-way line and picked out Mark Goodman with a pin-point pass. Goodman did the rest, sliding the ball into the net to round off the scoring.
With a number of players yet to return, the reserves look a good bet for finishing higher than last season's mid-table West Midlands division one position.
