SIR - What a lovely story the Davies sisters had to tell about their stays at the Old Palace. They noted the changes, and talked of the "clear view of the cricket ground and the Malvern Hills." In recent years, the trees have removed the view of the Old Palace and neighbouring buildings from the cricket ground! Some years back, a man who had a property for sale in that area was delighted that it had appeared on the back of a bank note.
Pity anyone trying to find that view. Gradually, the picturesque view from New Road gets less. In five years' time, a good deal of the Cathedral will not be visible from the cricket pavilion.
Worcester cricket ground is noted worldwide for its beauty, mainly because of the Cathedral.
Will the council please do something about those unsightly trees?
