COLWALL fourth XI completed their first Worcestershire County League division seven double of the season with a three wicket win over Nomads thirds.
WORCESTER NOMADS III v COLWALL IV
John Foxall for Colwall struggled to find his rhythm bowling up the incline and Charles Giess, despite beating the bat failed to take a wicket. The introduction of Tim Riley's spin accounted for the first two wickets, one lbw and the other to a well-taken caught and bowled.
The change bowlers, Greg Leighton, Chintu de Prakesh and Toby Dudfield all bowled well causing problems for the batsmen, and wicket-keeper, due to some uneven bounce. A good final third of the innings led by 53no from Claytor left Colwall to chase 215 for victory.
Andy Freestone set the tone with a rapid and powerful 18, Toby Dudfield (40) and Jeremy Leighton (34) then laid the foundation of victory with a partnership of 80 before both fell to the spin of Madzarevic.
Colwall were keen to keep the run rate up and fine knock of 48 from M Lawrence, with good innings from Tim Ward (19) and Chintu de Prakesh (10), helped Colwall to complete a three-wicket win.
