BARNARDS GREEN II v ASTWOOD BANK II
On winning the toss the Green opted to bat first, Brewer was first to go in the second over for four, Jon Lewis looked to be in prime form dispatching any thing loose to the boundary, Derek Goodman at the other end struggled to time anything and settled for a supporting role.
Goodman was second out with the score on 97 for a hard fought 24, Jon Lewis followed in the next over for a fluent 53, Thompson looked in fine form until he holed out for 11, this brought Lewis Hooper to the wicket to form a partnership with Mark Haffield, who had been encouraged to come out of retirement to help the team.
Haffield started steadily then increased his scoring as he became more accustomed to the bowling, Haffield was eventually out for a fine 81 containing 12 fours and a six , he and Hooper put on 110 for the fifth wicket in 17 overs, Hooper was out for a fine 44 putting the Green in a strong position.
Andy Wheeler smacked a quickfire 29 and Tom Clack stroked an impressive 26no, at 304-9 in the 49th over skipper Spencer decided to declare giving Astwood Bank 51 overs to reach their target.
Astwood Bank lost their first wicket when Jagielski was superbly caught by a diving Spencer in the gully off the bowling of Tom Clack.
Thomas was joined by Boycott and this pair found the young opening bowlers to their liking and had taken the score to 65-1 after ten overs.
Hooper and Spencer were brought into the attack to try and slow the scoring rate, this was achieved but still the Green failed to make a much needed breakthrough, Brewer replaced Hooper and although going at seven an over, he deceived Thomas bowling him for 43.
Prior joined Boycott and proceeded to play the supporting role as Boycott progressed to a chance less century, a fine throw from the deep by Clack finally ran out Boycott for 109.

With three runs needed for victory Prior hit a six off the last ball of the 51st over to give Astwood Bank victory by two wickets, Prior finished up with 71no.
Phil Spencer bowled 20 overs taking 2-58 to go with his four catches, but it was not enough to make up for his decision to declare and give the visitors an extra over.
Astwood Bank gained 24 points and the Green seven.
