BROMSGROVE Rovers face another tough pre-season challenge tomorrow when Bristol Rovers visit the Victoria Ground (3pm).

Rod Brown's side have endured mixed fortunes so far, beating Hednesford Town 3-2 and Moor Green 1-0 but losing 4-0 to Kidderminster Harriers and 2-0 against Redditch United.

They returned to winning ways in mid-week with a 3-0 success at Alvechurch, thanks to two goals from Richard Burgess and a Delton Francis strike.

And Brown is pleased with how his squad is taking shape ahead of the new Southern League Division One Midlands season.

"I am relatively pleased with pre-season," he said. "I don't look at results in terms of games.

"We have worked hard. I am trying to bring in eight players and trialists and that's not easy.

"You just can't put 17 or 18 lads together and expect it to be hunky-dory.

"We have got a good team spirit and I think that's important going into the season. I think that what is important for us is not the result, although that's nice, it's about how we go about our business."

Bromsgrove will be without Mark Benbow with a knee complaint, while goalkeepers Dean Coleman (groin strain) and Chris Taylor (thigh) are both struggling.

Bristol Rovers are expected to field a mixture of reserve and youth players given that the first team begin their Coca-Cola League Two campaign at Peterborough United tomorrow.
