ST John the Evangelist Church in Storridge celebrates its 150th anniversary next weekend.
The popular Worcester Male Voice Choir is paying a visit to help mark the occasion.
Until the mid-19th Century, Storridge residents had to walk to Cradley to worship.
The rector of Cradley, The Very Rev. Charles Luxmoore, proposed a church for the village as a memorial to his son, John, killed in a riding accident at Cambridge University.
Although Mr Luxmoore died in 1854, before the church was completed, his sisters saw the project through.
Local people are now being invited to share in the anniversary celebrations.
The choir concert is on Saturday, August 12, at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £5, are available from Michael Allfrey on 01886 880224 or Cradley Post Office.
There will be a flower festival in the church on Saturday and Sunday on the theme Storridge Life, Past and Present. Cream teas will be available.
On Sunday, there will be a thanksgiving service at 11am, when the Bishop of Hereford will preach, followed by an anniversary lunch for parishioners in the village hall.
