ON my early morning walk with my dog today, I carried carrier bags to collect litter from nearby streets.
As usual, it is cigarette packets, fish and chip wrappings, plastic bottles, etc. However, again, my lovely dog walked into the path of a cheap vodka clear bottle smashed up against a stone wall. I returned to that stretch of pavement five minutes later with a broom and pan and brush to clear up the dangerous mess.
I don't suppose we can do very much about these litter louts, but I do feel strongly that most of the Malvern residents could help by picking up litter (safely) outside and near their homes instead of just ignoring it? To return home from visits to cities reminds me how lovely this part of England is, and I wish more could be done to keep it so.
