THROUGH gritted teeth a Worcester hairdresser has raised more than £100 for The Princes Trust.
Dave Ching, owner of Cutting Edge hair salon, just off New Street, was persuaded to have the hair on his chest removed by one of his customers Karen Pearson.
As a mentor with The Prince's Trust, Ms Pearson helped 30-year-old Alexandra Meek set up her own beauty treatment salon Alexandra in Broad Street, Worcester, three years ago. Miss Meek, who specialises in the Zahra sugaring hair removal treatment and facials, attributes much of the success of her business to support from the Prince's Trust.
She explained that sugaring involved applying a paste of sugar, lemon and water onto the skin which, when removed, takes the hairs with it.
Miss Meek said the event had been a great success.
"Dave was great, although he was a bit shocked at first, but I gave him a glass of Champagne first," she said.
But 42-year-old Mr Ching said: "It was the most painful thing I have ever had done in my life. The first rip, I nearly jumped off the bed."
Earlier this year, the Prince's Trust celebrated its 30th birthday with a lunch at Worcestershire County Cricket Club.
