TEENAGE star Ryan Taylor lived up to his growing reputation by winning the Worcestershire Union of Golf Clubs' boys open title.
The 14-year-old has only been playing the sport for a few years but he amazed officials with his winning display at the challenging Gay Hill course.
Playing off a handicap of 14, he shot one over par in his first round against a strong field of county regulars.
And he followed that by shooting three over par in the second round of the 36-hole competition to win the event by one shot.
Ryan's achievement was even more impressive given that it was his first major competition, although he regularly plays men's events with his father Adrian at Cleobury.
Cleobury's general manager Graham Pain said: "Ryan is a really nice lad with not only great ability but a very mature attitude.
"He has been a regular at our junior coaching sessions for several years."
Cleobury Golf Club has been a Golf Foundation Starter Centre for 10 years and was the first club in the Midlands to achieve the Golf Mark award for good practice with young people.
"Ryan's achievement reflects this and the whole club is really proud of him," added Pain.
