JOE Rowe produced an awesome performance to triumph in the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists Dragon two-day road race in Neath, South Wales.
Rowe rode in the A,B and C age category, completing a 3.5km time trial and a 43-mile road race on day one and a 60-mile road race on day two.
He finished the time trial in eight minutes 10 seconds for equal second and completed the day in the lead after storming to victory in the 43-mile event.
And despite a couple of blistering attacks in day two's 60-mile race the bunch crossed the line together with Rowe safely at the front for a memorable victory.
John Callaghan rode in race two over the same distance for D, E and F catagory riders and put in another fine performance for the district to finish third overall.
Dave Barnes's cycle of success continued when the Wyre Forest Cycling Club member produced a stunning ride to finish second in the Port Talbot Wheelers 50-mile time trial.
Barnes finished the Glenneath course in an impressive one hour 51.33 seconds, only 44 seconds behind winner Colin Wallace of the promoting South Wales club.
Barnes was recently crowned British Cycling National Masters 3km Pursuit Champion in his 35-39 years age group and also won the Ross-on-Wye 25 mile time trial at Raglan a week later.
Wyre Forest riders were on form in the Halesowen track league at the Manor Abbey stadium on Friday night.
Alex Tinsley teamed up with Dominic Jelfs of Bromsgrove Olympic to take a superb victory in the 40 lap Madison event.
They were followed in second place by the Wyre Forest pairing of Phil Blacker and Warren King.
Tinsley then went on to finish fourth in the 10-lap scratch race followed by Blacker in fourth place. Joe Rowe rode strongly for seventh overall in the five-mile scratch race and Blacker crossed the line in second place in the 2km scratch race and was second again in the A category Devil race followed by King in fifth place.
