WYRE Forest has been handed a new state-of-the-art emergency ambulance to help deal with demand.
The £66,000 Renault vehicle, which will be based at Kidderminster's Stourport Road station, is one of seven added to the fleet to serve Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Each is equipped with air conditioning throughout, additional radio communication, mobile data terminals and modern wireless technology.
Interim general manager for the Hereford and Worcester local delivery unit, Frances Martin, said: "An emergency ambulance covers an average of 45,000 miles a year.
"They get a lot of wear and tear, so it is important we have an on-going plan to update our fleet."
