VEHICLES good enough only for the scrapheap are being collected free of charge for a month during an amnesty run by Wyre Forest District Council.
The amnesty for abandoned vehicles, which began on Tuesday, follows the success of a similar scheme last year.
To take up the amnesty offer, owners of unwanted vehicles must have the vehicle's logbook and the vehicle must be complete. They will be disposed of by Kidder-minster Car Dismantlers, which will remove dangerous materials, including petrol, oil and batteries for recycling before the vehicle's body is crushed and the metal is recycled.
Abandoned vehicles can be reported to the council's customer services line on 01562 732928.
