Evesham's Red, Green and Blue Theatre Company will be off on tour later this month with Rites2 - Insanity Fair.
The first Rites, written by Simon Andrew Stirling, was set in an unnamed village in Worcestershire.
It saw the morris dancing team gatecrashing a marital aids party followed by the women's desperate scheme to put an end to the internecine fighting caused by over enthusiastic bell-ringing.
Simon who created Rites, for the company said: "At first we thought we were just having fun but it turned out some of the story ideas were genuinely familiar to local villagers. I think we captured the spirit of village life, even if it was in a larger- than-life way."
Rites 2 sees reality TV cameras coming to the village fete. And this time a much loved local orchard is for sale and various groups within the village do not want to see their rural idyll sold to developers.
Various schemes are devised to save the orchard interrupting the two main events of the village fete with the search for the Carnival Queen and the competition for the Village Idiot.
"This is a full length comedy," said Simon. "If anything I think it's funnier than Rites. We've got nine very strong characters, young and old, all making a mess of things and we feature a genuine local speciality, plum jerkum."
Rites 2 will be performed at the Lenches Lake in Church Lench on Friday, August 25 at 7.30pm, The Fleece Inn in Bretforton on Saturday, August 26 at 7.30pm, Sunday, August 27 at Pershore Rugby club in Wyre Piddle at 6pm and at Raphael's in Hampton Ferry at 3pm and 7.30pm on Monday, August 28.
Tickets are £8, from the Almonry Heritage Museum in Evesham, on 01386 446944, Kayelle productions on 01386 871583 or info@kayelle.co.uk.
