I DO agree with the need for council regalia to add gravitas but I must admit that it does figure rather low down on my priority list.
Well below decent streets and pavements (aren't they past a joke), below doing something positive about the boarded up shopping mall in Bridge Street(four months away from its 12th anniversary), below making the Civic Centre car park pay and display and available weekends (why should council officials, responsible for setting car park charges be immune from paying them?). Around 1993 there was a video made of Stourport, please study it, and give us our town back. Maybe then we will all feel the robes have been earned.
P.S. Why has there been an expensive, shiny new sign erected in the Memorial Park saying "Park" (shouldn't it be surrounded in bobbly slabs and written in Braille?)
