TENBURY'S residents are gearing up for a great day out at the town's annual countryside show on Saturday.
Interest in this year's show has been immense with trade stands being snapped up and an increased entry for its prestigious show of Hereford cattle.
"It should be a fantastic action-packed day for all the family with an array of attractions for everyone," said Nick Champion, general secretary of Tenbury Agricultural Show.
"We have the largest entry of Hereford Cattle in the country, an expanded fun fair and we have sold out of trade stands this year. We've tried to keep to the show's roots and this year there will be plenty of agricultural stands for everyone. "
The 23rd national show of Hereford cattle, which attracts entries from all over the country, will have an international flavour.
"We have Lee Haygood from the Indian Mound Ranch in Texas to judge Hereford cattle, and we also have the usual sections for cattle, sheep and horses."
A new attraction this year will be a "Sizzling Sausage" competition between Tenbury's butchers and show-goers can choose their favourites. The show's finale will see contestants running a mile around the main ring for cash prizes.
The event, which runs from 9am-6pm, costs £7 for adults, senior citizens £5, children £3 and under 5's are free. There are also concessions available for adults at £5 and children at £2.
The show is held on the Worcester Road, Burford, and there will be a free shuttle bus from Tenbury town centre from noon onwards
