Tenbury 206 for 9 Himbleton 207 for 4
TENBURY lost the toss and were asked to bat first. Open-ers Robin Downwood and Steve Giles put a useful first wicket partnership together of 39 until Giles was caught for 16.
After a brief rain interruption, Tenbury resumed their innings but immediately lost Jon Pearson. Tenbury's batsmen all came in and batted around Downwood who took control of the Tenbury innings. Andy Adams made a good 36 while Ben Thompson also chipped in with a quick fire 19. As Down-wood went past 50, the run-rate quickened as Tenbury tried to make the most of their remaining overs. Downwood was eventually dismissed in the 45th over for a brilliant 87. Tenbury finished on 206 for 9 off 47 overs.
Despite an early breakthrough with the score showing just 27, Tenbury struggled to contain the Himbleton batsmen on a good pitch. Ben Thompson, Andy Adams and Derek James took the other wickets as Himbleton reached their target for the loss of just four wickets.
Tenbury travel to Old Elizabethans this Saturday who currently sit one place below them in the Worcester-shire County League Division 3 South.
