THIRD place is not out of resurgent Barnt Green CC's reach believes captain Simon Froggatt.

Froggatt is confident that his side can continue their climb up the table and finish in a top three place.

Victory over Knowle and Dorridge has propelled Green, who have been struggling in the bottom half of the Birmingham and District League Premier Division for much of the 2006 campaign, into the top half and cut the gap between themselves and third placed Kenilworth Wardens to just ten points.

Froggatt though stressed how important it is for his team to keep winning matches.

He said: "I think third place is definitely something we can aim for now. We've hit a decent run of form in the last few weeks and the confidence is returning.

"We can't put any targets on ourselves all we can do is continue to win matches until the end of the season.

"Unfortunately I think that West Bromwich Dartmouth are a little too far away to be caught but Kenilworth, who are third, are only ten points ahead of us. I think we may be able to catch Walsall but we would have to defeat them and then hope they drop points somewhere else as well."

One reason for Green's return to form after a patchy season are the performances of former captain and key all rounder Lyndon Jones.

Jones took three wickets to help restrict Knowle and hit 96 runs to inspire his side to victory. Batsman Paul Bedford, who misses Saturday's home game against Old Hill, also hit a vital half century.

Froggatt said: "Lyndon played very well and would have got his century if we hadn't ran out of time. He's been playing extremely well in the last month or so and he's an important player. Paul Bedford also did very well for us and it's a bit of a shame that he misses the next game because he would be very useful."

Green will be missing two key players for this Saturday's home game against Old Hill (12.30pm start). Stuart Shephard, who has made an impact with the bat this season, and Bedford are both unavailable.

Froggatt said: "We're missing a few first team players but whoever comes in will do a very good job for us. Steve Williams is knocking on the door because he is getting a a lot of runs for the seconds."
