A HAPPY Spa couple have just marked 70 years of marriage at their Westlands home.
Kath and Sid Jones, of Drovers Place, Westlands, celebrated their Platinum anniversary towards the end of last month, on Tuesday, July 25.
The couple met in the needle factory in Selly Oak and married at the age of 18 in 1936. After they were married Sid joined the army and served during the war.
The pair marked their 70th wedding anniversary with a meal with family members on the Sunday before the big day.
Kath and Sid, now both aged 88, said the secret to a long and happy marriage is that you need to accept the ups and downs and get on with life. They have two daughters and one son and have many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Kath said: "We had a wonderful day and were visited by our family, which was really nice."
