STUDLEY Ladies kicked off their pre-season programme with ten goals in two victories - including seven at higher league opposition!
West Midlands Premier hosts Telford United were put to the sword 7-3 on Sunday, a victory which came on the heels of a 3-2 win at Bilton Ajax.
Rachel Hopkins opened the scoring for from the spot inside five minutes on Sunday and the lead was soon doubled by Steph Jones with her first goal for the club.
Telford hit back midway through the half and could have drawn level but blazed a penalty high and wide.
Studley punished them soon after when Jones added her second and Rosy Hughes added a fourth before half time.
The hosts pulled one back after the break but Studley created an excellent passing move which was finished precisely by Lisa Hodges who lifted her shot over the advancing keeper. Jones completed her hat-trick before Telford scored their third, but Studley had the last word when Sarah Edney converted from the spot in the dying moments.
Steve Tayler's side kicked off their pre-season work with a strong side at Bilton and the visitors had the perfect start when Hopkins struck from 25 yards.
Soon after, the same player beat three challenges and fired another long range effort in to double Studley's advantage which they held until half time. Bilton - set to take on managerless Redditch VC at HDA Sports & Social Club, Cherry Tree Walk, Batchley, tonight (ko 7pm)- replied twice but a goal from Sarah Robinson five minutes from time saw Studley home. Studley visit Evesham on Wednesday.
