I WOULD like to express, through Your View, my absolute disgust at an incident my husband and I witnessed recently in Bromsgrove Cemetery.

I was putting fresh flowers on my parents' grave when I noticed a group of pre-school children and their carers, walking along the edge of the footpath, by the cremation area.

One child was being encouraged by the adults to collect the artificial flowers that had been placed at each cremation plaque. One carer even gave him a carrier bag in which to put his collection as he ran along the row.

Upon seeing my annoyance to what was happening, the carer told the little boy that he now had enough and not to pick up any more. He proudly waved his bag full of flowers before joining the rest of the group.

My husband and I are outraged at this terrible disrespect for such a sacred area and wonder if these children's parents realise what they are being encouraged to do, whilst in the care of these people.

I can only imagine the upset it would cause to the families of these desecrated graves when they discover that the flowers they had placed for their loved ones had been stolen.

To the adults that were supervising these children I would like to say;- "You know who you are and should be ashamed of yourselves".

My children were raised learning to respect the dead and their place of rest.
