SIR - I read with great interest the article concerning the people of Warndon in which they were complaining about double yellow lines.
They should take a look at Martley Road where the lines were done away with when the road was resurfaced six months ago. When roadmen came to put the double yellow lines back, they painted them where they used to be, knocking 35 yards off because the cars park up to the bollards.
The big lorries cannot get through - they have to stop and wait or go the other side of the bollards. When you get in touch with your councillor or powers-that- be, nothing is done. Where are the people in charge?
The lorries park up on the pavements, making ridges that remain for weeks. When it rains, the water goes across the road in waves because the drains are blocked. The authorities have been told but nothing is done. Also, we had new lamp posts that had signs on them and the dog fouling signs have never been replaced. That was seven months ago - why do we employ these people?
