Wythall Gardening Club hosts a visit to Cranesbill Nursery in Stock Green, near Redditch. Visitors should arrive by 7pm and everyone is welcome. There is a £2 charge for visitors.
Saturday, August 5
A litter pick will take place in Southcrest and Smallwood as part of Redditch's Partners and Communities Together (PACT) scheme. Volunteers should meet at Centrepoint Club in Ipsley Street (formerly the Liberal Club) from 10am.
Sunday, August 6
A silent protest will be held at St Stephen's Church from noon-12.30pm to mark Hiroshima Day. The vigil will be protesting against what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki but will also provide an opportunity to protest against nuclear weapons in general.
88 Rectory Road in Headless Cross will open up its garden as part of the National Gardens Scheme in aid of charity from 11am-5pm. Admission is £2 and children will be admitted for free. Homemade teas will be available.
Arrow Valley Countryside Group will hold a nine-mile walk to Himberton. Hikers should meet at 9.45am at Crabbs Cross car park. For more details, call 522013.
