A BICYCLE from Halfords, a meal for two and an opportunity to learn to fly are just some of the raffle prizes up for grabs at a charity disco this weekend.

The Hopeful Honeys - including Julie Senior, Julie Ingram, Rachel Walmsley and Sharon Clarke - are holding the family event at the Batchley Social Club in Bridley Moor Road on Saturday from 7pm.

It is being held so that the four members can raise enough money to take part in the Aviva Breakthrough Breast Cancer weekend in September.

Mrs Clarke said: "We are almost there and we'd really like this to be the night where we finally reach our target - even raise a little bit over."

She added: "It will be a fun night for all the family and we'd like to see as many people there as possible."

Tickets are £5 and are available on the door. This includes two raffle tickets.

Further prizes include a horse riding lesson, theatre tickets, a hair cut and jewellery.

The group has worked tirelessly to raise the money needed to participate in the event and plan a further car wash at the fire station later this month.
