On Sunday, there is only one service in the United Benefice of Powick, Callow End, Madresfield and Guarlford.
This takes place at St Peter's Powick at 10.30am and will include an infant baptism of Spohie Madeleine Misa Welsh. The service is to be conducted by The Rev. Brian Williamson.
Thanks to all who supported Powick fete last Saturday. After many years of fine weather, this year proved the exception. Heavy rain an hour after opening resulted in a mass exodus of people.
Nevertheless, the belly-dancers from Malvern were able to perform before the heavens opened and the band, Swing Time, played on regardless.
Thanks to all who manned the stalls, come rain or shine, and to the compere, Tony Seldon, for keeping up our spirits. The bar, cream teas and ice cream and the barbecue sold well, and the raffle and tombola were successful. Overall, profits were down - final figure as yet unknown.
