MALVERN Wells residents concerned about noise from Abbey College have been invited to discuss their concerns.
The invitation came from Abbey College principal Philip Moere at a packed meeting of Malvern Wells Parish Council.
Around 50 residents attended on Wednesday, July 19, many to complain about noise from the college.
Mr Moere said the college had around 300 students during the summer months and around 100 staff.
"It's inevitable that there will be some noise from any school or college," he said. "We'd like to meet local residents and show them around the college and explain our policies and procedures.
"We do take our neighbours into consideration and we'd be happy to listen to suggestions they have."
Mr Moere said the college was a boarding school as well as a language college and any noise was only what could be expected from a school of 300.
Malvern Wells PC has collected the names and contact details of residents who want to discuss their concerns and will pass these on to the college.
Parish councillor Brian Wilcock said that when residents complained about noise from the Three Counties Showground, joint meetings with environmental health had partly resolved the problem.
A similar approach was suggested in this case but the college decided to meet with residents first.
