A 15-year-old girl needed hospital treatment for a suspected broken nose after being punched in the face three times in Hereford town centre on Saturday night.
The assault happened at around 10.20pm outside the TK Maxx store in the Maylord Shopping Centre.
A man aged around 30 approached the victim and, after a verbal altercation, punched her in an unprovoked attack. The man ran off when two other men came to the girl's aid. The attacker was described as white, around 6ft tall, with short light brown hair. He wore three quarter length combat trousers and may have been intoxicated at the time.
Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen the assault take place or the man as he made his getaway.
l A man who received serious arm injuries during an incident in Stourport has been named as 24-year-old Peter Loveridge from the town. Mr Loveridge was taken to Selly Oak Hospital after the incident at the Wheatsheaf pub in High Street at 3am on Saturday. His injuries, which have been reported as tendon damage to his right arm, are not life-threatening.
Police arrested a 60-year-old Kidderminster woman on suspicion of assault. She was later released on police bail.
Detective Sergeant Mike Patz said: "We are seeking further witnesses."
