DRIVING his pride and joy, a classic Mini, around Europe is how an Upton electrician plans to raise funds for charity this August.
Simon Barnett, aged 19, will be travelling from Upton to Brands Hatch and on to Germany in a week-long trip organised by internet club, the Mini Forum, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.
He is really excited about taking in his red and black 1986 Mini Mayfair overseas for the first time.
He will be part of a convoy of 50 cars meeting up with German Mini owners at the Nuerburgring race track.
His friend Ryan Tarr, from Malvern, is also taking part in the trip, and it will be his second time.
Simon hopes to raise a lot of sponsorship money so the group can beat last year's fundraising total of £10,000.
"Almost every family knows someone who's been affected by cancer," he said.
Anyone willing to sponsor him can contact him on 07926948713 or by emailing pie.barnett@ gmail.com.
