PRESIDENT Pauline Vining welcomed members on a beautiful July evening.
The speaker was Ed Shore talking about taking his wife, car and caravan overland to India.
A real wanderer, he had travelled twice round the world and had fallen in love with India .
His wife had encouraged him to continue travelling and he had cycled to Santiago de Compostela along the pilgrim route one year, following it by cycling to Rome the next. But he had vowed to return to India with a car and caravan, a journey not to be taken lightly.
Travelling overland in a Ford Granada, they had many adventures on they way to New Delhi.
When it was time to return home, the car and caravan were shipped back -- the caravan was ruined but the car is still running.
Not being quite so intrepid travellers, it was agreed to see if it would be possible for members to visit Wick Rissington for an evening outing in August, when there is no official meeting.
And in September, they will be travelling from their chairs again but much nearer to home when Bev Bevins talks about strolling around Stratford.
