IN the early hours of Sunday morning a railway signalman was passing the works of Harris Brush Co in Stoke Prior when he saw flames coming from the works assembly.
As a result two engines from Redditch fire brigade were called over in support of two from Bromsgrove to fight the fire.
About one third of the hall which was used as a dance hall as well as a canteen was severely damaged by heat and smoke.
The cause of the outbreak is not known.
