REDDITCH United are running the rule over giant defender Exodus Geohaghan after the stopper opted to leave Southern League Midlands Division neighbours Bromsgrove Rovers.

The 21-year-old central defender and long throw expert was set to figure in United's opening pre-season fixture, at Midland Alliance neighbours Alvechurch last night.

And Geohaghan, who has been tracked by League Two outfit Bristol Rovers, among others, could be set for a swift reunion with his former teammates when Redditch visit Rovers on Saturday (ko 3pm).

"We will be taking a look at Exodus and will see if we want to take it any further from there," said Reds boss Gary Whild.

"He is only 21 and has been talked about as a target for league clubs so we want to take a look at him."

And Whild is confident of completing the capture of former Birmingham City and Peterborough United forward Howard Forinton next week.

"Howard was married on Saturday and is away for a week on his honeymoon at the moment," explained Whild.

"The seven-day approach we lodged for him has expired and I have spoken to him and he indicated he was very interested in joining us.

"We will be looking to take that further when he is back from his honeymoon in the middle of next week.

"Howard is very good friends with Simon Rea, who play with us, they know each other from their days together at Blues and Peterborough.

"But I've known Howard since his Yeovil days and into his league career and watched him play for Halesowen Town last season so I know what he is about."

United continue their pre-season programme with a trip to Evesham next Tuesday and the visit of Birmingham City on Wednesday (both kick-off 7.45pm).
