BOGUS gas men stole cash from an elderly woman in Studley.
The 83-year-old Toms Town Lane resident answered the door to a man at 3pm on Monday.
He told her there had been a gas leak in the road and needed to check her house.
She invited the thin, white man in his 30s into her home and went into the kitchen, while he went upstairs claiming he was going to check a pilot light.
When he returned, she noticed there was a second white man with him carrying a plastic supermarket bag.
After they had gone, the pensioner discovered a blue flight bag containing cash and papers was missing from upstairs and money had been taken from her purse in a downstairs room.
The first man was about 5ft tall, clean shaven with dark straight hair and was wearing a black jacket and trousers.
The second was also 5ft tall, stockier and between 20-40. He was wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt.
Police believe they may have been with a woman who was driving a silver car after a witness described seeing one of them talking to her before going into the house and then nodding to her as they left.
The men walked off in the direction of the A435 and the woman drove off in the car.
Anyone who recognises the description of the men or has any information about them or the incident is asked to call Alcester police on 01926 415000.
