FESTIVE spirits were not dampened by Saturday's summer downpour at a Christmas party held in Batchley to raise cash for charity.
The novel event was held by David Bradshaw at his Woodland Road home so he can raise enough money to take part in the Aviva Breakthrough Breast Cancer Weekend in September.
More than 100 revellers turned out for the festive games, sizzling barbecue, visit from Santa Claus and prize give-away.
Mr Bradshaw said: "Even though the weather wasn't very good, the party went really well and we managed to raise £765. I only have £435 left to go now.
"Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves too."
